Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Voicemail Greeting Maker ("we," "us") collects when you use voicemailgreetingmaker.com (the "Service"), how we use it, and how long we keep it. The short version: you can use the free generator without an account, we keep as little as possible, generated greetings are deleted automatically after 7 days, and we never see your card details.
Information we collect
Text and audio you generate
When you generate a greeting, we send the text you entered and the voice you selected to our text-to-speech provider to create the audio. This applies to standard and premium voices. If you add background music, we mix it into the audio on our servers. We store the text and the resulting audio files in Cloudflare R2 object storage so you can preview and download them, and so repeat requests for the same greeting don't need to be generated again.
Generated text and audio are stored for 7 days and then deleted automatically. Download links expire sooner, within 24 hours.
Please don't include sensitive personal information, such as health, financial, or government ID details, in your greeting text.
IP addresses (rate limiting)
To enforce the daily free limit and prevent abuse, we count requests per visitor. We do this by storing a salted hash of your IP address, not the IP address itself, together with a daily request count. These records are deleted after 7 days. We don't use them to identify you or to track you across other websites.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may process IP addresses and basic request data, such as browser type and the requested page, to deliver and secure the Service.
Account information
Accounts are optional and only needed to buy and use credits, premium voices, background music, and IVR batch generation. You sign in with your Google account. We receive and store the email address and name on your Google account. We don't get your Google password or access to your other Google data.
We also store your credit balance, your purchase history (plan, amount, date, and the payment provider's transaction reference), and your subscription status. Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account at any time, though we may keep purchase records where the law requires it.
Account data, credits, orders, and generation logs are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon in the United States.
Payments
Payments are processed by Waffo or PayPal. You enter your payment details on their pages, not ours. Purchases made through Waffo are sold by Waffo as merchant of record, which handles the payment and any applicable sales tax or VAT. We never see or store your full card number. We only receive confirmation of the payment, the amount, and a reference we use for refunds and support.
Generation logs
We keep a log of each generation: the date, the voice used, the length of the text, whether it was free or paid (and the credits charged), and the status. This lets us show your history, fix billing problems, handle refunds, and prevent abuse. Generation logs never include your greeting text or audio, and are kept for 90 days.
Usage statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views and performance without cookies. If product analytics are enabled, we also use PostHog to count page views and steps such as "generated a greeting." PostHog uses a random ID kept in your browser's local storage, and never receives your greeting text.
Error reports
If something breaks, Sentry receives an error report so we can fix it. Error reports may include technical data such as your IP address, browser, and the page you were on.
What we don't collect
- You don't need an account, name, email, or phone number to use the free generator.
- We don't see or store card numbers.
- We don't offer voice cloning and don't accept uploads of your voice or other recordings.
Feedback
If you send feedback from your account, we keep your message and any images you attach (up to three), with your account, so we can read and answer it. Images are stored privately in Cloudflare R2 and opened only through signed links that expire after one hour.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use it only to reply.
Third-party services
We rely on the following providers, which process data on our behalf or as independent services:
- Text-to-speech provider: converts your text into audio with standard and premium voices. Your greeting text and selected voice are sent to it for processing. It keeps the resulting audio file for up to 24 hours before deleting it.
- Cloudflare: hosts the Service and stores generated audio and greeting text in Cloudflare R2. We also use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that requests come from people rather than bots, and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page views and performance without cookies.
- Neon: hosts our PostgreSQL database (US region), which holds account data, credits, orders, and generation logs.
- Google sign-in: lets you sign in with your Google account. Google shares your email address and name with us.
- Waffo: processes checkout for credits and subscriptions. Purchases made through Waffo are sold by Waffo as merchant of record, which handles the payment and any applicable taxes.
- PayPal: an alternative checkout. PayPal receives your payment details directly and handles them under its own policies.
- Resend: sends transactional emails about your purchases and subscriptions. Your email address is sent to Resend to deliver them.
- PostHog: product analytics, only if enabled. It counts page views and steps such as "generated a greeting" with a random ID kept in your browser's local storage. It never receives your greeting text.
- Sentry: collects error reports, which may include technical data such as your IP address and browser.
- Google AdSense: shows ads on some content pages. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent message, managed through a Google-certified consent management platform, before personalized ads or related cookies are used. You can learn more at Google's ad policies and manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
The free generator doesn't set any cookies. If you sign in, we set a session cookie to keep you signed in; it's needed for your account to work and isn't used for advertising.
If product analytics are enabled, we keep a random ID in your browser's local storage for up to 30 days, and a cookie recording where your first visit came from (the referring site or campaign tags, and the page you landed on) so it can be attached to your account if you sign up.
Google AdSense may set cookies or similar technologies for advertising and consent management, as described in Google's policies and according to your choices in the consent banner. Cloudflare Turnstile may also use similar technologies for bot protection. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you're in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you can change your ad consent choices at any time through the privacy link shown on the site.

We don't sell your personal information.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EEA, the UK, and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal information. If you don't have an account, we usually hold very little that can be linked to you, because generated content is deleted after 7 days. If you do, you can ask us for a copy of your account data or to delete your account. To make a request, email support@voicemailgreetingmaker.com.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date above.
